At Camp Hope, kids impacted by cancer can be kids again. Many of these children grow up quickly due to cancer. Camp Hope is entirely free for these kids, thanks to MercyOne Genesis Davenport Cancer’s generous support through the MercyOne Genesis Foundation. It offers a free week of residential camp at Camp Shalom Christian Camp in Maquoketa, IA. Here, they can bond with other kids affected by cancer and enjoy activities like archery, canoeing, rope courses, campfires, songs, swimming, and more.

Camp Hope also includes group activities Cancer Support Community at Gilda’s Club staff, where they can discuss cancer and emotions. There’s a day trip to the MercyOne Genesis Davenport Cancer Center for a hands-on tour, meeting doctors and staff, and learning about cancer diagnosis and treatment. Kids can ask questions in a safe environment to ease their cancer journey.

As a parent, you can rest assured that your child is in a safe environment and forming relationships with others facing similar situations.

Camp Hope is open to kids going into 4th – 9th grade. Reach out to the Program Team if you have any questions at program@csciowaillinois.org or (563) 326-7504.
